Hi, I'm Lily Mendez, and I'm a current junior at Ronald Reagan High School. I've been into art and creative expression my whole life, whether it's drawing, painting, photography, sewing or embroidery. I love creating things and encouraging myself to do new things in art. I've done a lot of that this year! I find art to be one of my favorite things to do, I like going through the motions of it and finding new things to do is exciting. I want to do something creative when I'm older so having an outlet for that is important to me. I want to create things that people love, and that inspires them to create as well. Finding new mediums is so exciting to me as I like to jump around different mediums; I don't usually enjoy doing something too frequently. I have experimented in many different mediums this year and I hope to experiment with many more going forward.
I really value color and innovation in my work, I like to experiment with things I've never done before, and looking at familiar things in a different way. Color is really important to me, I find things to be so much more interesting to look at when there is vibrancy to it, moving forward I am trying to incorporate more color into my work. This year I want to experiment with my style and find new things to do. I like gaining new skills and I am hopeful that I can learn many new things. Other things that I like are baking, crocheting and doing anything where I can work with my hands. |
